Cryogen therapy emits a fine jet of liquid nitrogen to freeze and destroy unwanted skin lesions on the cellular level, including skin-tags, moles, and age-spots. This allows us to target only the lesion, and reduce damage to surrounding healthy skin.

  • We start by cleaning and prepping the area. Then, we spray the lesion with a fine mist of liquid nitrogen. This process is quick, with each lesion taking less than 10 seconds to freeze. Initially, there might be some tingling due to the cold liquid nitrogen. All in all, this procedure is quick and easy, with minimal discomfort.

FAQs

  • After treatment, the area might be slightly red, and will eventually become a scab after 3-4 days. The area may blister, and should not be popped. Eventually, the scab will flake away leaving new, lesion-free skin.

  • The majority of people require 1-2 sessions but if the lesion is more stubborn, you may require 3-4 sessions.

  • Folks with darker skin types think Fitzpatrick skin types 3-6 are at higher risk for hypopigmentation and/or hyperpigmentation around the treated lesion. A patch test performed 4-6 weeks in advance is required in order to move ahead. We also require you to be on a skin lightener and/or melanin inhibitor 4-6 weeks in advance. If you have a darker skin type, please book in for a consult prior to booking in for treatment

    • Wash treated area gently with fragrance-free soap and water

    • Don’t use scented soap, makeup, or lotion on the treated area until it’s fully healed.

    • Apply SPF on area to avoid scarring
